Job Overview
The Director of Nursing and Operations – North is responsible for leading integrated clinical and operational services across HammondCare's Northern Sydney portfolio, including inpatient and community palliative care, older persons mental health services, and collaborating with associated enabling services.
In partnership with the Executive General Manager and the broader Health leadership team, the role shapes a high‐performing, person‐centred and financially sustainable service system, ensuring care is safe, effective and aligned with HammondCare's mission.
Key Responsibilities
* Shape and sustain a person‐centred and financially viable service system, ensuring safe, effective care.
* Integrate clinical leadership, operational oversight and system improvement to enable continuous care excellence.
* Balance strategic direction with operational delivery and strengthen relationships with NSW Local Health District and other partners.
* Advisement on responding to current and future community needs across inpatient and community sites.
* Lead on key focus areas including clinical excellence, workforce leadership, operational performance, partnerships, transformation, service delivery, financial accountability, quality governance and digital/data capability.
Required Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (Division 1) with current AHPRA registration.
* Tertiary qualifications in Management or currently pursuing said degree.
* Significant leadership experience in hospital and/or sub‐acute settings.
* Demonstrated ability to lead integrated clinical and operational services across multiple sites.
* Strong financial and operational management capability, including budget accountability.
* Experience working within complex health systems and service agreements (e.g., with LHDs).
* Proven track record of leading and implementing service improvement and change initiatives.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership skills.
* Highly developed communication, leadership and organisational skills.
* Current driver's licence and willingness to travel across sites.
* Postgraduate qualification in healthcare leadership, management or related field (desirable).
* Experience leading service transformation or large‐scale change in healthcare (desirable).
* Experience across palliative care, aged care or mental health settings (desirable).
