We are seeking an experienced Lead Developer for a high-profile Federal Government transformation program.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across a complex integration and modernisation initiative involving legacy and contemporary technology platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design, development, and integration of enterprise applications across multiple technology stacks.
* Drive platform modernisation, Single Sign-On (SSO), identity management, and legacy migration initiatives.
* Provide hands‐on technical leadership across C#, ASP.NET, SQL, JavaScript, Dynamics 365, and legacy technologies including Delphi and VB.
* Develop architecture artefacts, technical documentation, migration strategies, and governance submissions.
* Collaborate with product owners, architects, developers, testers, and business stakeholders to deliver critical outcomes.
* Manage technical risks, delivery timelines, and ensure alignment with security and architectural standards.
Essential Experience
* Approximately 20+ years of progressive IT experience spanning legacy client‐server systems through to modern cloud, ERP, and CRM environments.
* Strong hands‐on development expertise across modern and legacy technologies.
* Demonstrated experience leading enterprise‐scale transformation, integration, and migration programs.
* Proven capability in architecture design, technical governance, cyber security considerations, and legacy modernisation.
* Strong Agile delivery experience, including planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and benefits realisation.
Desirable
* Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
* Experience designing integrated solutions leveraging both platform capabilities and custom‐built applications.
* Experience working within large, complex government or highly regulated environments.
Engagement Details
* Role: Lead Developer (EL1 Equivalent)
* Contract: Initial 6 months + potential 12‐month extension
* Location: Canberra or Brisbane (hybrid)
* Security Requirement: NV1
