Peppermint Bay is a stunning, iconic property set on the banks of the D'Entrecasteaux Channel, offering breathtaking views across the water to Bruny Island. Located in the charming coastal town of Woodbridge, about 35 mins south of Hobart. Our venue is a favourite destination for both locals and tourists alike.
As a renowned and long established family business, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional dining, event, and cruise experiences.
We are currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and driven Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and help progress our establishment to the next level.
Responsibilities
* Lead our kitchen team as Head Chef and help progress the establishment to the next level.
* Deliver exceptional dining, event, and cruise experiences in a stunning setting.
* Work with a seasonal menu and rotating specials to enable creativity and experimentation.
* Collaborate with a strong management team focused on employee wellbeing and personal development.
* Utilize local produce and suppliers, plus the in-house kitchen garden.
* Contribute to costings and COGS management and uphold HACCP and food safety standards.
* Lead and mentor junior staff, and support functions, weddings, and events catering.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role and venue.
* Extensive experience in a variety of culinary techniques, including pastry, baking and high-volume production.
* Creativity and a passion for menu design, adaptation and improvement.
* Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to teach junior employees.
* Experience or knowledge of contemporary regional bistro, gastro pub and casual cuisine.
* Experience in functions, weddings and events catering.
* A commitment to high standards, brand fidelity and progress.
* A solid commitment to HACCP and food safety standards.
