Orora's dynamic Can Ends manufacturing facility in Ballarat is the only Can End plant across our Australia and New Zealand business which is run and managed by a high-performing site team who are driving innovation and growth in the packaging industry.
The Role
We are seeking aMechanical Systems or Mechatronics Engineerwho is an innovator with their own ideas and ready to take ownership of the role. As a Mechanical Systems Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines. You'll dive into analysing equipment and plant reliability, identifying system gaps, and driving improvements to enhance efficiency and machine uptime. This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to exciting capital and process improvement projects, making it an ideal next step for an engineer ready to make a real impact in a fast-paced, technically advanced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse production performance and machine reliability to identify areas for improvement
* Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot issues and determine root causes
* Recommend and implement innovative solutions to enhance machine reliability
* Support daily plant operations and help to implement best practice across all lines
* Drive continuous improvement bridge gap and build robust systems
* Promote a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace
About You
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic
* 3+ years of experience in a similar role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes with the ability to identify and implement process improvements
* Has an understanding electrical systems and PLC knowledge
* Experienced in maintenance planning, project management and Pneumatics
