Join a Local Council as a Project Officer, providing support to the Buildings Project Unit to successfully plan and deliver projects by providing high quality, effective and effective contract administrative support.
- 38 hours per week, 9am-5pm Monday to Friday
- Based in Dandenong
- 3-month contract, with possible extension
- $36.21 per hour + Superannuation***
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Project and Contract Administration
- Support the Building Project Unit delivery of core project support tasks and activities.
- Monitor and maintain the accuracy of the Project Schedule(s) and provide updates.
- Attend project coordination meetings, take minute actions and follow up issues and actions.
- Establish/update effective procedures, information flows and lines of communication within Project Control Group.
- Help to prepare works program, including tasks, time schedules and resource availability to enable works to be carried out on time and within budget.
- Administer the Project Risk and Issues Management Plan and coordinate updated reports for Project Control Meetings.
- Maintain all project files and documentation in an accurate and up-to-date manner.
- Provide directions and clarification to Contractors and Consultants regarding project support matters.
- Assist in the preparation and evaluation of tenders and the consequential administrative actions.
- Support all aspects of contract management administration.
- Attend contract site meetings and deal with (or refer) issues from consultants and contractors.
- Assist with monitoring the project budget, expenditures, payments and reconciliations.***
**Requirements and Qualifications**:
- Knowledge of relevant Building industry standards, regulations, best practices approaches, local laws and the context which they are used within council.
- An understanding of Project Management principles and practices as well as Contract Management skills
- A proven record of experience in supporting business and office operations in technical/commercial project settings preferably from inception to final hand over.
- Effective time management skills to organise and prioritise work within resourcing limits and project timelines.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, incorporating problem solving and customer service skills.
- Advanced PC skills, with the capacity to capture and utilise meaningful data and prepare reports for line management.
- A "Red Card" or similar building related OH&S; certification.
- A current valid (and ongoing) Victorian Drivers' Licence
