Overview
A well-established construction business based south of the river is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the finance function and support commercial decision-making across the organisation. This is a hands-on leadership role combining financial operations, project support and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, including management accounts, cash flow forecasts, performance dashboards and variance analysis.
* Partner with senior stakeholders and project teams to provide commercial insight, financial modelling and decision support.
* Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with business objectives and project requirements.
* Identify opportunities to improve margins, manage costs and mitigate financial risk through detailed analysis and recommendations.
* Oversee core accounting activities including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance of financial controls, whilst leading and mentoring a small team.
* Ensure smooth operation of transactional finance processes such as payroll, accounts payable and receivable, inventory and payment approvals.
* Coordinate statutory, tax and compliance obligations, working with external advisors where required.
About You
* CA or CPA qualified with experience in a Finance Manager or senior accounting role.
* Background in construction, engineering or project-based environments.
* Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a small finance team.
* Strong technical accounting skills with a commercial, hands-on approach.
* Confident communicator able to partner effectively with operational and project stakeholders.
