Senior Legal Counsel Role
As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide expert legal advice across our operations in ANZ and internationally. You will work closely with project teams and senior leaders to ensure the smooth execution of contractual agreements, compliance with applicable laws, policies and procedures, and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
* Drafting, negotiating, and advising on engineering and construction agreements to establish clear contractual frameworks and mitigate risks.
* Managing claims and litigation, including professional indemnity matters, in collaboration with internal teams, insurers, and external counsel.
* Delivering legal and commercial training to project teams to promote risk awareness and understanding.
* Maintaining internal policies, implementing legal updates, and contributing to monthly legal communications.
* Supporting the development of legal precedents and resources.
* Mentoring junior legal staff and contributing to team strategy and growth.
Requirements
* Law degree and current Australian practising certificate.
* 5–10 years' post-qualification experience.
* Experience in either consulting engineering/architecture or the construction sector.
* Strong understanding of procurement models and contract law.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
* A collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous learning.
