The Role
A great career opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join our national Finance team in the Melbourne office. In this role you will be supporting the Finance Manager with key finance deliverables on a monthly basis and assisting the Finance Team providing back up and support to all areas.
The list below outlines some major accountabilities and deliverables:
1. Produce accurate monthly management reports on a timely basis
2. Complete balance sheet reconciliations
3. Complete monthly BAS and annual FBT return
4. Ad-hoc reporting for management & partners
5. Assist in the month end process
6. Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process
7. Gain an understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Trust Accounting in order to provide back up and assistance where required
8. Quarterly ABS reporting
9. Payment Times reporting
Who We Are Looking For
The successful applicant will be CA or CPA accredited or be working towards it, with a minimum of two years experience working in an accounting role.
10. Excellent attention to detail ensuring accuracy of work, produced in a timely manner
11. Good understanding of accounting principles and their application
12. Ability to complete BAS returns and an understanding of FBT principles
13. Demonstrates a good knowledge of systems and processes internally and externally
14. Proficient with Microsoft Excel
15. Prioritise competing tasks sensibly after discussion with the relevant stakeholders
16. Plans and organises work effectively and efficiently
17. Builds effective working relationships
18. Commits to working towards team success
19. Contributes towards team morale and a positive work environment
