About our school
Sophia College is a Catholic secondary school located in the Lockyer Valley, approximately 80 km west of Brisbane. The College opened in January 2021 and continues to grow, enrolling a new cohort of students each year. Its Catholic identity is enriched through a Franciscan spirituality and a strong focus on 'integral ecology'. Job Summary

* Work hours: 30 hrs/week
* Salary: $86,601 – $124,725 per annum + super (commensurate with experience)
* Status: Full Time Fixed Term/Variation

Responsibilities
* Creating a nurturing, learner‑centred environment that aligns with curriculum policies and practices.
* Collaboratively developing and implementing quality curriculum programmes, evaluating effectiveness, assessing student progress and reporting outcomes to students, parents and the community.
* Working with the leadership team, teachers and other staff to contribute to the professional life of the school and foster a positive culture.
* Proactively engaging in professional learning to enhance student outcomes.
* Establishing positive relationships in the pastoral care of students, supporting their spiritual and moral development.
* Ensuring that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience creating a supportive, learner‑focused classroom aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
* Expertise in designing and delivering effective curriculum programmes aligned with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
* Commitment to engage with colleagues, students and parents/carers to enrich learning experiences and achieve the best outcomes.
* Passion for supporting students' spiritual and moral development.
* Proficiency in modern teaching methods and technology.
* For this position you are not required to be Catholic.
Eligibility and Safeguarding
* Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
* Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
