Job Overview
The Water Network is seeking a visionary Engineering Manager to lead our Utilities business nationally. This role involves overseeing engineering aspects of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, shaping systems, implementing governance frameworks, and contributing to company growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead engineering management for water and wastewater projects from design to construction
2. Develop and implement systems, processes, and governance frameworks for high-quality project delivery
3. Collaborate with design teams, consultants, and subcontractors for feasible, cost-effective designs aligned with project goals
4. Provide technical leadership across design and construction phases, ensuring compliance with standards and specifications
5. Work closely with project managers, site managers, and construction teams for seamless coordination
6. Mentor engineering teams, provide resources, skills, and training to meet project objectives
7. Identify engineering and construction risks and implement mitigation strategies
8. Support team growth through mentorship and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
9. This role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, or other flexible locations, with travel as needed
Requirements and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in engineering management within the water and wastewater sector
* Expertise in design and construct projects, with contractor-side delivery experience preferred
* A background in mechanical engineering with strong design management skills is highly desirable
* A passion for improving systems, processes, and governance frameworks to ensure project success
* A natural problem solver who enjoys tackling complex challenges and partnering with clients and teams to deliver innovative solutions
