Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Energy System Engineering – UNSW
United Nations South Western (UNSW) invites applications for a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) in Energy System Engineering within the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. The role is full‑time, based 2‑year convertible tenure‑track, located in Kensington – Sydney, Australia.

* Salary
o Lecturer – Level B, AUD 127,947 to 150,830 per annum plus 17% superannuation
o Senior Lecturer – Level C, AUD 155,403 to 178,290 per annum plus 17% superannuation
* Full‑time, 2‑year convertible tenure‑track
* Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia
Opportunity
As a Lecturer (Level B) you will develop your scholarly research and professional activities nationally and internationally while contributing significantly to teaching and service missions of the School and Faculty. As a Senior Lecturer (Level C) you will establish an internationally recognised research program in your field, enhance industry partnerships, and drive impactful research and innovation in thermo‑mechanical engineering.
You will be a key staff member with no direct reports, reporting to the Head of School.
Qualifications – Lecturer (Level B)
* PhD in a relevant area (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Systems)
* Demonstrated capability in thermo‑mechanical engineering of energy systems, including renewable energy and energy storage technologies, and reliability/durability of energy components and systems
* Proven experience translating research results into practical outcomes
* Capacity for developing alternative delivery models for teaching, including online and blended delivery
* High level communication skills; networking effectively across disciplines
* Team‑work and collaboration across the School
* Willingness to undertake any required compliance, supervisor training and implement UNSW health & safety policies
Qualifications – Senior Lecturer (Level C)
* PhD in a relevant area (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Systems)
* Demonstrated senior‑level capability in thermo‑mechanical engineering of energy systems, renewable energy, energy storage technologies (e.g., battery systems), and reliability/durability of energy components and systems
* Extensive experience translating research results into practical outcomes
* Success in attracting research funding from government and/or industry sectors
* Capacity for developing alternative delivery models for teaching, including online and blended delivery
* Excellent communication skills and networking across diverse student and staff groups
* Experience supervising research students
* Team‑work and collaboration across disciplines
* Willingness to undertake compliance, supervisor training and commit to UNSW health & safety obligations
* Alignment with UNSW's aims, objectives and values and relevant policies and guidelines
