About the Role
As a Consultant in Gastroenterology, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care across Lyell Mc Ewin and the hospital.
This position offers the following opportunities :
Provide comprehensive clinical services in gastroenterology, including advanced endoscopic procedures.
Lead and supervise junior medical staff, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
Contribute to teaching programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Engage in cutting‑edge research projects in areas such as advanced endoscopic imaging, ERCP, EUS, and hepatology.
Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives and strategic planning.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Involve in on‑call activities and play a key role in shaping the future of gastroenterology services within NALHN.
The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or other allowances where appropriate.

Eligibility
To be eligible for appointment to this role, you must hold:
Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
Appropriate specialist qualifications and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a medical practitioner with specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
A higher degree (MD, Ph D) and experience in research or publications will be highly regarded.
Appointment Requirements
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory criminal history check and appropriate immunisation requirements.
