The Role
EGESC is seeking a passionate and dedicated educator who is innovative, highly motivated, and committed to working collaboratively as part of a dynamic and supportive team. The ideal applicant would have strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students, staff, families, and the broader school community. The successful applicant should provide clear direction and leadership to Education Assistants and actively engage in ongoing professional learning to enhance practice.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant should deliver high-quality, purposeful, and engaging learning programs with a focus on developing students' functional literacy, numeracy, communication, and independence skills. Learning programs will be individualised to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with ASD and complex learning profiles. The successful applicant would ideally use a range of student data and assessment tools to inform planning, instruction, and reporting processes. A key component of the role is the collaborative development and review of Individualised Education Plans (IEPs), aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum and/or ABLESWA progression levels.
Ideal Attributes
We are seeking an educator with a genuine commitment to supporting students with disabilities, who utilises reflective practice and responsiveness to individual needs. The successful applicant should ideally be flexible and adaptable, capable of delivering engagement programs for students at educational risk, including those facing attendance challenges. They should be able to implement whole-class, small group, individualised, and remote learning programs as needed. Experience with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), self-regulation strategies, escalation profiles, and behaviour intervention planning would be highly regarded. Familiarity with trauma-informed practices, particularly the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM), and a dedication to ongoing professional development are highly valued.

Mobility appointments
Mobility appointments for permanent, metropolitan and south west teachers may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the end of the 3-year period, teachers can return to their substantive role or transfer permanently into this school.
