Primary objective
This position provides operational leadership, advice and management support for schools located in rural and remote
locations in the NT, in areas of administration and infrastructure. This position supports the management and mentoring of
staff within schools and the regional team.
Context statement
Top End Regional Services provides a range of services to strategically support remote small schools to maximise outcomes
for students in a culturally responsive way. This includes services and support for quality teaching and learning, secondary
provision, early childhood quality and integration, and policy coordination.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Responsible for managing the reporting and managing of urgent minor repairs for schools and other ad-hoc business
needs.
2. Ensure timely and accurate management of school data and information.
3. Assist Business Managers in managing school financial processes and support requests.
4. Oversee the generic mailbox and process requests as they come in or tag for escalation to another officer.
5. Provide administrative and logistical support as required, including word processing, data entry, freight and school
infrastructure repair requests.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated sound interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with an ability to interact effectively with
people from diverse cultures.
2. Demonstrated experience in infrastructure management practices, in particular procurement processes and working
with contractors to provide a service.
3. Demonstrated high level administrative and organisational skills, including tracking and managing work deadlines,
adjusting priorities to meet deadlines and working collaboratively with others.
4. Demonstrated high level computer literacy, including experience with the effective use of various office applications
and computerised accounting systems.
5. The ability to work in a team and maintain integrity and confidentiality.

2. This position will require travel to remote school communities by light aircraft and/or 4WD as required.
