**About the role**
Our Local Laws Officers sit within our City Amenity Unit and aim to proactively improve the amenity and safety of the municipality by achieving compliance with relevant legislation through customer engagement, education and enforcement activities.
This role will suit you if you if you are looking for a real challenge and you love engaging with the local community to make Wyndham an even better place to live. Bring your community compliance experience and 'can do' attitude to join the local laws team in 'keeping Wyndham clean, safe and presentable'.
**What your day will look like**
- Proactive work regarding local laws, litter, and building site compliance
- Responding to customer requests
- Coordinating your day-to-day work
- Conducting site visits and inspections
- Engaging with the local community and key stakeholders to achieve compliance
**What you will bring**
- Regulatory service and compliance experience in a community setting is desirable
- Strong communication skills and the ability to deal with the public across a range of complex situations
- The ability to solve problems
- Confidence working autonomously
- Good computer skills (including the Microsoft Office suite)
- Empathy and resilience in difficult and confronting situations
