Overview
My client is a well-regarded independent investment bank with a great leadership team and a strong client list. Due to growth, they are looking to appoint a Vice President to help them execute a strong and diverse pipeline of M&A deals. The ideal candidate will come from a credible boutique or bulge-bracket bank and ideally have been covering the Australian market. You will have had experience working with private and listed companies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of investment banking transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic advisory assignments. This includes overseeing financial analysis, due diligence, deal structuring, valuation, and transaction documentation.
- Manage and mentor a team of investment banking professionals, providing guidance, support, and fostering their professional development.
- Take a leading role in client management activities, building and maintaining strong relationships, understanding their strategic objectives, and providing tailored financial solutions.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and modelling to evaluate investment opportunities, identify risks, and assess potential returns for clients.
- Collaborate with senior executives and other stakeholders to develop transaction strategies, formulate recommendations, and present findings to clients.
- Drive business development initiatives, including identifying new client opportunities, participating in client pitches, and contributing to preparing marketing materials.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments to provide strategic insights and recommendations to clients and internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies and procedures throughout the transaction process.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance the firm's reputation and expand professional networks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or CFA are highly desirable.
- Extensive experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or related fields, with a proven track record of successfully executing complex transactions.
- Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to manage and motivate a team, fostering a high-performance culture and delivering exceptional results.
- In-depth knowledge of financial modelling, valuation techniques, and transaction execution.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and influence key stakeholders.
- Strong business development skills, including identifying and cultivating new client relationships and generating new business opportunities.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and demonstrated critical thinking ability.
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
