Brief Summary of role:
The Housing, Municipal & Essential Services (HMES) Officer is responsible for undertaking repairs and maintenance of all Kalano communities, land and properties.
Duties may include, but not limited to;
• rubbish collection/removal
• lawn/garden maintenance
• building repairs and maintenance
This is a laboursome role that is vastly outdoors and requires a degree of physical fitness.
Employment Type: Fulltime
Salary Range: $59,709.52 per annum (pro-rata)

Location: Kalano’s HMES Office – Katherine, NT.
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week – 7.5 hours per day [Monday to Friday|08:00am – 4:30pm]
The successful applicant should possess the following attributes, skills and competencies;
• Cross cultural awareness and effective communication skills.
• Able to perform regular & physical outdoor tasks, in varying conditions.
• Competent use of machinery & power tools.
• Excellent understanding and knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety practices and regulations
• Experience working in Indigenous communities and understanding of cultural awareness
• Good time-management and organisational skills.
• Good communication and literacy skills, with competent use of Information Technology, including software such as Word, Excel and Outlook
• Current NT Drivers Licence, National Police Check and Ochre Card.
