The Regional Partnerships team at the University of Tasmania seeks to develop and sustain partnerships that facilitate the University's engagement and contribution to the economic, social and cultural life of the Cradle Coast region. Cradle Coast Local Learning Leaders project, funded through the Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success, is a program of work that will research the value of a community approach to informing and raising higher education aspirations of future learners across the region. A trial intervention has been designed and will delivered with and in community organisations, aiming to empower those engaged incommunity organisations to support future learners in career and higher education decision making and encouraging them to become advocates for further education.

The Project Officer, based at the Cradle Coast campus in Burnie from June 2025 until November 2025, will support the coordination and delivery of the project across project administration, stakeholder engagement, and planning and facilitation of activities and events. The incumbent will engage extensively with community partners across the region to support the achievement of the project outcomes and future strategic objectives on the Cradle Coast. They will deliver a skill set that brings together knowledge and experience of project and event coordination, higher education in Tasmania and stakeholder and community engagement.

What you'll do:

o Extensive consultation and collaboration with the project team, relevant committees and community partners on planning, scheduling and facilitation of a program of events and educational sessions tailored to the needs of the project and local communities and organisations involved.
o Coordination of the recruitment of research participants including the distribution of promotional materials to project partners, monitoring of registrations and implementation of strategies to meet recruitment targets, and coordination of participant communications.
o Co-facilitation and, in the absence of the projects Education Lead, lead facilitation of workshops in community ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality content that aligns with the values and culture of the community and/or group in which it is delivered and recognises and values their contributions to the design.
o Collaboration with and support for the research team in the gathering of data throughout the facilitation and delivery of the trial.
o Contribution to the development, implementation and monitoring of broad project plans supporting and facilitating the delivery of the trial on time and on-budget, in-line with agreed project milestones and intended outcomes.

What we're looking for:

o A relevant degree / qualification in relevant discipline with significant subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
o Relevant combination of experience in career education, community engagement, coaching and facilitation and/or project management in higher education.
o A deep understanding of higher education and the needs of young people and future learners.
o Extensive experience in engaging with diverse individual and group stakeholders and mobilising internal stakeholders within complex institutions, preferably in a university setting.
o Proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment and demonstrated capacity to act independently within established guidelines, exercising discretion and sound judgement.
o Effective interpersonal, resilience, communication and influencing skills with a positive can-do attitude.
o High level verbal, written, digital and presentation skills with a detailed understanding of place-based approaches and the principles and processes of program management, event delivery and regional partnerships.
o Exceptional organisational skills with strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130,943 comprising base salary within the range of $101,821 to $111,917 plus 17% superannuation.
