Job Description
The Regulatory Legal team provides advice and support to regulatory activities, including investigations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act) and criminal prosecutions for alleged contraventions of the WHS Act.
The team supports the Regulatory Operations Group by:
* Providing advice and guidance on evidence gathering, issuing statutory notices, and investigation procedures
* Assisting with the preparation of briefs of evidence for prosecutions
Mission Overview
The Legal Adviser works under limited direction in providing specialist legal advice to staff. They effectively resolve problems, manage risk, and work within APS Values.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
1. Australian Lawyer Admission/Licence Required.
Another relevant lawyer experience preferred.
Current Practising Certificate or ability to obtain one within three months required.
