We are seeking an experienced senior Information Technology manager to lead the Network Project and Innovation team, which is responsible for the maintenance and support of the Bureau’s network project and enhancement tasks.
In order to fulfil this role the applicant must have:
• A background supporting complex integrated technology products and services
• Experience in managing a team of Network Engineers supporting the data network, unified communications systems, and meteorological data collection network
• Strong technical network background
• Effective communication and leadership skills
• The ability to craft and input into detailed policy and tender processes.
• Proven experience in managing IT Network projects and/or direct involvement in managing/coordinating IT Network projects.
The key duties of the position include:
The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
1. Lead and manage a team of experienced Network Engineers supporting a complex environment, ensuring that incidents and problems are resolved in a timely manner, in close collaboration with other ICT groups.
2. Manage and provide support to the migration of the current network to the future state.
3. Conduct ICT procurements, prepare tenders, and manage ongoing service payments against approved annual budget.
4. Lead and participate in design, development and implementation of network projects. Your strong technical background and experience will reflect the successful timely project delivery.
5. Lead the management and lifecycle ownership of network devices, from procurement to End of Life.

7. Support Bureau Work Health and Safety (WHS) initiatives and provide leadership in complying with Bureau WHS procedures and policies.

Qualifications
A degree or diploma of an Australian educational institution, or a comparable overseas qualification, which is appropriate to the duties; OR other comparable qualifications, which are appropriate to the duties.
