Your new role
* Oversee all aspects of inventory, including receipt, issuance, tracking, and reconciliation
* Maintain optimal stock levels and establish reorder thresholds aligned with operational requirements
* Proactively manage obsolete and slow-moving stock
* Develop and enforce robust inventory control procedures and policies
* Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive inventory management system tailored for heavy mechanical operations
* Integrate the system seamlessly with existing workshop and procurement processes
* Train team members and workshop staff on system functionality and best practices
* Organise the physical store layout to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance
* Supervise and mentor store personnel and apprentices
* Maintain accurate documentation and traceability of all stock movements
What you'll need to succeed
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior inventory/store management role, ideally within a heavy mechanical or industrial environment
* Extensive knowledge of parts, components, and consumables used in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
* Proven expertise in developing and implementing inventory control systems, including ERP, MRP, or custom solutions
* Strong proficiency in software tools such as Microsoft Excel, inventory management platforms, and database systems
* Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication abilities
* Ability to thrive under pressure, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively within a team environment
* Valid forklift licence required
