This is a senior leadership role, based in Port Adelaide, working closely with the CEO & Managing Lawyer to ensure the organisation operates efficiently, sustainably, and with impact.

Key Responsibilities
* Leadership & Operations Management
o Lead all non-legal functions within a small, dedicated team
o Translate strategic priorities into actionable operational outcomes
o Foster a collaborative, trauma‐informed, high‐performing workplace culture
o Drive organisational sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives
* People & Culture
o Workforce planning, recruitment, and performance management support
o Oversight of employment law, WHS, and compliance obligations
o Promote staff wellbeing, psychological safety, and professional development
* Practice Operations & Service Support
o Manage intake, administration, and client service systems
o Ensure accessibility, efficiency, and a positive client experience
o Supervise volunteer and clerkship programs
o Maintain robust ICT, records management, and data systems
o Support Board reporting, governance, and policy frameworks
o Ensure compliance with ACNC obligations, funding agreements, and regulatory requirements
o Coordinate audits, reporting, and accreditation processes
o Oversee budgets, monitor finances, and manage operational risk
o Contribute to grant submissions, tenders, and stakeholder engagement
About You
You are an accomplished operational leader with a proven track record of managing teams and improving organisational systems. You bring:
* Strong budget oversight and financial monitoring experience
* Expertise in policy development and implementation
* Knowledge of HR, employment obligations, and WHS requirements
* Excellent written communication and analytical skills
* Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal capability
* High attention to detail with a focus on process and systems improvement
* Relevant qualifications in business, management, public administration, law, or related fields (or equivalent experience) will be well regarded. Experience in Community Legal Centres, familiarity with legal practice management systems, and accreditation processes are advantageous but not essential.
