**Your Impact**

As a Compliance and Security Coordinator, preferably based in Canberra, you will work closely with the Australia Office Social, Healthcare, and Public Entities (SHaPE) Practice. This practice aims to improve healthcare and public sector outcomes through innovative solutions, client engagement, and leveraging the firm's extensive capabilities. It focuses on payer and provider sectors, develops new healthcare businesses, and supports public and social services, all while enhancing client capabilities and knowledge.

You will collaborate with the SHaPE Practice leadership, as well as with firm Risk and Compliance teams, to support the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) membership requirements, including managing security clearances issued by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA), and broader risk management initiatives.

Your responsibilities include coordinating personnel security clearances, guiding colleagues through clearance processes, delivering security awareness training, and ensuring compliance with travel reporting and other requirements. You will develop and implement security policies, maintain clearance and security registers, and ensure adherence to Defence policies through reporting and assurance activities. Safeguarding sensitive materials, supporting data localisation, and fostering a positive security culture are also key aspects of your role.

You will work closely with the Chief Security Officer to respond to security incidents, improve security arrangements, and handle day-to-day protective security tasks. Additionally, you will drive SHaPE-specific compliance by maintaining risk management registers, delivering training, and implementing new compliance practices.

Your role also involves monitoring compliance with public sector engagement rules, such as the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and the Department of Finance's MAS Panel, supporting milestone reviews, and providing compliance data for Defence's account management processes.

**Your qualifications and skills**

* Experience in administration, human resources, security, compliance, or risk management, preferably within government or regulated environments
* Knowledge of defence industry security arrangements, including personnel security clearance and vetting processes
* Understanding of obligations under the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and the Management Advisory Services (MAS) Panel for consultancies serving public sector entities in Australia
* Digital proficiency with office technologies, including Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint), and willingness to learn new tools
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues at all levels
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple cases and processes within deadlines
* Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
* Previous experience with Australian Government security agencies or roles (e.g., Defence Security Branch, DISP, AGSVA), or similar roles (e.g., Security Officer)
* Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Personnel Security Clearance up to Negative Vetting 2
* Willingness to complete DISP Security Officer Training and other required trainings
