The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Assistant to join our Health Law Team. With the support of committed colleagues, the position will see you playing an integral part in assisting our individual plaintiff clients and allied health professionals across the various areas of health and medical law practice through the provision of high-quality administrative assistance and practice support. This role would suit a Legal Assistant who has experience either already working in a health and medical law environment or alternatively wanting to specialise in this area having worked in personal injury litigation. Your duties will vary from day to day but will include: • Preparing legal documents, correspondence, memos, emails • Preparing briefs to Counsel and other professional service providers • Liaising with clients, independent experts, government agencies such as Centrelink, Medicare, Courts, Barristers and other third parties • Diary management • Opening, maintaining and closing files • Time recording and billing • Filing and record keeping • Practice reporting • Other administrative tasks Skills and Qualifications To be successful in this role, candidates should exhibit the following abilities and attributes: • Strong sense of responsibility and respect for confidentiality • Confident demeanour and proven ability to work collaboratively • Practical and with good common sense and initiative • Excellent organisational, planning skills and a high attention to detail • Accurate document production and editing skills • Document and file management capability • Strong computer skills (Office 365) and familiarity with practice management software About Us Catherine Henry Lawyers is a multi-award-winning law firm with its principal office in the Hunter which assists people throughout NSW and beyond.
