About the role

In this role, you will bring your expertise and creativity to facilitate the design and implementation of essential infrastructure for recent subdivisions, ensuring compliance with all standards and requirements. You'll also play a key part in shaping innovative policies and processes that enhance land development.

Band 7 Commencing at $106,158 pa plus super

Key responsibilities include:

- Evaluate civil engineering documentation related to land development including strategies, drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure land development compliance with relevant standards and applicable planning permit conditions.
- Support our subdivision inspectors to oversee construction of approved civil infrastructure in accordance with standards.
- Liaise with developers, consultants, contractors, and statutory authorities to achieve innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
- Provide advice to colleagues and planning permit applicants on matters such as traffic, car-parking, drainage, flood protection, stormwater quality treatment and integrated water management.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, as well as the following:

- Demonstrated ability to apply civil engineering principles when examining documentation.
- Ability to work as an effective member of a professional team.
- Ability to communicate clearly, tactfully, and concisely with staff and members of the community.
- Ability to set priorities and plan/organise work allocated.
- Ability to problem solve and think laterally to come up with innovative solutions to difficult problems.
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
