Our client, The Trustee for Arkan Family Trust trading as Golden Tiger Fine Food Restaurant, is seeking a skilled and committed Chef to join its kitchen team on a full-time basis.
Tasks include:
* Planning and preparation of a wide range of dishes in accordance with the restaurant menu and customer preferences.
* Prepare, cook and present food to a consistently high standard during lunch and dinner services.
* Ensure correct portioning, seasoning, temperature control and presentation of all dishes.
* Plan menus and contribute ideas for new dishes and seasonal specials.
* Manage kitchen operations in an organised and efficient manner, particularly during busy service periods.
* Ensure all food preparation and storage practices comply with food safety and hygiene standards.
* Monitor stock levels, check deliveries, and assist with inventory control and proper storage of ingredients.
* Train and supervise junior kitchen staff to ensure consistency and quality in food preparation.
* Minimise food wastage through effective planning and ingredient management.
* Follow workplace health and safety policies and contribute to a positive team environment.
Qualifications and skills:
* Certificate IV or higher qualification in commercial cookery or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* At least 3 years of recent experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
* Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills.
* Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
Salary range: $74,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation
