We are seeking experienced Senior Secondary Teachers to join our dynamic team of educators.
As a Senior Secondary Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated teaching programs that align with the ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies Curriculum (years 11 and 12 colleges).
Effective classroom management is crucial in this role, using well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Building respectful relationships with students, colleagues, families, and the wider school community is essential for your success in this position.
Collaboration with colleagues and contributing to whole-school initiatives will also be a key part of your responsibilities.
Assessment and feedback play a significant role in guiding student progress, and you will need to demonstrate a deep understanding of how senior secondary students learn.
Additionally, ongoing professional learning will be necessary to develop your teaching practice and enhance student achievement.
About Our Colleges
Our colleges operate on a continuous school-based assessment model, which means there are no external examinations apart from the ACT Scaling Test (AST) in Year 12.
Instead, students are assessed on their learning throughout the 2 years focusing on different themes or skills.
Colleges and their teachers have the flexibility to create the curriculum and decide which courses to offer students.
They provide high-quality educational programs in both regular academic subjects and Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses.
VET courses teach students practical skills and allow them to earn credits for both a VET qualification and a Senior Secondary Certificate, improving job prospects and providing a better learning experience.
Requirements
* A recognised four-year full-time tertiary teaching qualification
* ACT Teacher Quality Institute Teacher Registration (or eligibility to apply)
* Valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration (or eligibility to apply)
* Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid working visa
