We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our Special Education Services team in North Queensland. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and coordinating high-quality advice and support for students with disabilities.
About the Role
* Manage and coordinate expert advice and support for students with disabilities, ensuring they receive the best possible outcomes.
* Lead and manage programs providing advice to classroom teachers as needed, promoting collaboration and effective communication.
* Offer high-quality advice to school leadership and staff on planning and implementing reasonable adjustments for students with disabilities, enhancing their educational experience.
* Coordinate targeted teaching for students needing intervention and case management for students requiring significant adjustments, addressing their unique needs.
* Support staff in accessing specialist services and professional development, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Engage in school decision-making, contributing to the development of strategic plans and goals that promote student success.
* Implement and manage school-wide systems to monitor and record data on students with disabilities, enabling informed decision-making and resource allocation.
* Form partnerships with parents, government agencies, and community groups to support students with disabilities, building strong relationships and leveraging resources.
* Manage human, financial, facilities, and curriculum resources to achieve goals, prioritizing efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements
* Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in leading Special Education teams or equivalent.
* Proven track record of developing and implementing successful programs and initiatives.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
