About You
As an English / EALD Teacher, you will inspire students through engaging, student-centered teaching within a Catholic learning environment.
Final year graduates (Waiver B applicants) are welcome to apply.
Key Selection Criteria
The successful applicant will be a highly effective teacher who demonstrates the following: commitment to the Catholic Church and a strong sense of faith, capacity to enliven the values of truth, empathy, excellence, curiosity and collaboration in students with regard to the Mission and Vision of Sydney Catholic Schools, qualifications to teach English, ability to differentiate pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning, willingness to undertake continued professional development and faith formation, a willingness to assist and lead students in extracurricular activities such as performance and exhibitions, ability to support the College's scholastic initiatives and promote its innovation in light of the Strategic Plan, an ability to undertake leadership mentoring and training from peers, and develop and demonstrate strong professional relationships with colleagues.
Experience working with EALD students and managing EALD data and reporting, a tertiary qualification in Education and NESA accreditation.
Desirable Experience
Desirable experience in teaching Stage 6 English Advanced and / or English Studies, willingness to contribute to the implementation of the new Stage 4 and 5 syllabus, including writing programs and resources, willingness to undertake SCS gifted and talented training through the Newman program.
