Overview
The 8A Day Chemotherapy Unit at the Royal Hobart Hospital provides a service to patients with a cancer or haematological diagnosis. Chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, and targeted therapies are delivered along with supportive therapies that include blood product support, intravenous antibiotics, antifungal therapy, bisphosphonates. Non-malignant haematological procedures include bone marrow aspirate and trephines, venesections, iron infusions and intravenous immunoglobulin. Acute Apheresis is undertaken under the direction of Haematology, in consultation with Renal, Neuro, ICU. The Bone Marrow Transplant service undertakes Haemopoietic Stem Cell Harvests and infusions for Phase 1, phase 2, phase 3 Clinical Trials are undertaken in the Day Chemo Unit.
Role and Responsibilities
The unit is seeking a compassionate and experienced ANUM to join our clinical team. In this vital role you will provide team leadership, coordination and NUM support, support to oncology patients, ensuring they receive timely, safe, and effective advice and care coordination. You will assess symptoms, prioritise patient needs, and escalate appropriately to the multidisciplinary team. This position is ideal for a nurse who thrives in patient-centred care and values the opportunity to make a difference through expert communication and clinical decision making.

Requirements
* Demonstrated clinical experience in the relevant practice area, with the capacity to provide clinical leadership, exercise professional judgement and initiative and work with minimal supervision.
* Demonstrated ability to understand the business of the unit/service in delivering the best outcomes within available resources, including a demonstrated understanding of patient flow principles and discharge planning in the pursuit of patient/client goals within a contemporary healthcare framework.
* Demonstrated ability to contribute to the evaluation, innovation and development of services provided by the unit/service and the review of clinical practice policy, procedures and protocols.
Details of Appointment
* Fixed term, full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of up to seven months. Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: $109,767 to $115,813 per annum. Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type. Salary Packaging: You'll have access to salary packaging a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Desirable: Holds, or is working towards, relevant postgraduate qualifications.
