About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to join our growing team at our Laverton North office. This high-impact, broad generalist role involves strategic and operational HR responsibilities, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
You will manage the HR operations for over 500 casual traffic control workers, focusing on safety, engagement, and performance, while collaborating closely with supervisors and managers to foster a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Employee Lifecycle Management: Recruitment, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and offboarding.
* Employee Relations: Address queries, resolve conflicts, and promote a positive work environment.
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to laws, safety protocols, and company policies.
* Performance Management: Support managers in monitoring and improving staff performance.
* Employee Engagement: Implement initiatives to boost morale and job satisfaction.
* Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate HR records and provide workforce analytics.
* Workforce Planning: Lead recruitment efforts and ensure contractor compliance.
* Union Interaction: Collaborate with union representatives to address employee concerns and ensure contract compliance.
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 5 years in a hands-on HR role
* HR qualification preferred
* Experience in managing HR functions, industrial relations, and safety
* Strategic HR delivery, workforce planning, and reporting skills
* Ability to coach managers and build stakeholder relationships
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* Adaptability to a dynamic environment
* Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
* Strong computer skills and multi-tasking ability
