About the Role As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred active support to people living with disability. Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. We are currently looking to fill 1 permanent part time position. You must be available for all shifts listed below: Line 1 Week 1 Monday 22:30 to 08:30 (Active) Saturday 09:00 to 15:00 Week 2 Thursday 16:00 to 23:30 Sunday 23:30 to 09:30 (Sleepover) * Please Note: It is important to understand that our clients’ needs, and their support plans can change which also means that our roster lines may change and will be confirmed at the time of offer. Key Responsibilities Engage with clients in their favourite activities such as riding the train or ferry into Sydney City Encourage gardening and outdoor activities on the acreage property Deliver personalised active support to 5 clients with diverse support needs and challenging behaviours Document and follow behaviour support plans Work collaboratively within a supportive team to enhance client independence and quality of life Skills & Experience Ability to think outside the box and creative with outdoor activities Resilience supporting challenging behaviours and positive behaviour supports Strong communication skills and ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011 Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
