Senior Project Officer
Clerk Grade: 09/10
Salary range:$129,464 - 142,665 + super
Location: McKell, Parramatta, Gosford with hybrid working arrangements and office attendance required
Employment Type: Full Time (35 hrs per week), temporary employment (up to 12 months)
About this role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an individual to join the Workplace Services team at the Department of Customer Service as a Senior Project Officer. You will manage and coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of construction office accommodation refurbishments or fit out projects to achieve project outcomes and support the achievement or organisational objectives.
A key focus will be to manage stakeholder communications, preparation of briefing notes, procurement of suppliers, prepare programs, financial management, contractor performance and evaluation of each project. In addition, you will also manage the design and co-ordination issues on site with our client and contractors.
The work will include the technology upgrades relating to office accommodation.
As a natural leader, you will lead and manage a project team, including internal and external project members, to deliver all key project milestones and outcomes. You will provide expert advice and information to the program manager on emerging project issues and present recommendations to support project delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes and other project priorities.
This role may requires regular travel within regional NSW and work outside regular working hours.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
* Project management experience with fit-out coordination/management (Client & Contractor)
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge of end-to-end project delivery with emphasis on procurement, contract administration & construction management.
* Experience in managing tendering procedures and overseeing construction contractors.
* Experience with procurement processes and demonstrate transition to NSW Government procurement processes
* Ideally have experience with the various NSW Government contracts and schemes.
* Flexible and innovative in problem solving
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management or equivalent
* 'Can-do attitude'
* Experience within the construction industry.
* Experience in using project management software/tools.
* Experience in Financial and Risk management
