We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead and grow a well-established short term rental accommodation business on the Sunshine Coast, with a portfolio of over 100 properties under management. With over 30 full and part time staff, your ability to manage groups, develop employee skills and continually develop and improve systems and procedures in this growing business are paramount.
This role is suited to a highly capable hotel, accommodation, or short term rental professional who has already operated at a senior management level and understands what it takes to run, scale, and continuously improve a complex accommodation business. Experience is essential. This is not a stepping-stone role.
The office is located approximately 10 minutes from Mooloolaba.
About the role
As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation, performance, and growth of the business. You will lead multiple teams across operations, guest experience, cleaning, maintenance, and administration, while ensuring systems, standards, and financial performance continue to improve as the portfolio grows.
This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong commercial awareness, exceptional organisation, and the ability to manage people, processes, and priorities at scale.
Key responsibilities
• Oversee all operational aspects of a large short term rental portfolio
• Lead, manage, and develop internal teams and supervisors
• Ensure consistently high standards of guest experience and owner satisfaction
• Drive continuous improvement across systems, workflows, and procedures
• Manage business performance, reporting, and operational efficiency
• Contribute to strategic planning and sustainable portfolio growth
• Act as the senior point of accountability across the business
About you
To be considered for this role, you must clearly demonstrate the following through your resume and experience:
• Senior management experience within hotels, serviced apartments, or short term rental accommodation
• Proven ability to manage and lead a business or department of significant scale
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• A track record of implementing systems, structure, and continuous improvement
• Confidence managing teams, performance, and accountability
• Commercial awareness and experience contributing to business growth
