We are currently hiring a Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Program Educator/Instructor to join our CPS team.
This is a part-time contract position for one year (25 hrs/month) with potential to extend the contract.
Reporting to the Associate Manager, Community Impact, the Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Program Educator /Instructor provides child car seat education, resources, and instruction to families, caregivers, and community professionals to help ensure children are safe when travelling on BC roads.
This is a part-time contract position for one year, working approximately 25 hours per month with the possibility of taking on more hours.

What you'll do Provide education and instruction on child passenger safety to parents, caregivers, and community professionals through coordinating and facilitating information sessions, hands-on workshops, and CPS Educator training courses.
Complete training to become a BCAA Child Passenger Safety Educator and Instructor, with an option to complete Safe Travel for All Children: Transporting Children with Special Health Care Needs training.
Mentor and support CPS Educators across the province.
Review and update program materials.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to execute and support existing strategies and new initiatives.
Participate in strategic planning discussions related to the program.
Administer the CPS phone line, email inquiries, mail-outs, CPS Educator activity reports, and database.
Perform other day-to-day functions and support Community Impact initiatives.
Travel within the Greater Vancouver area and across BC.
Receive a competitive hourly rate of $27-31/hrWhat you bring Grade 12 or equivalent.
BCAA Child Passenger Safety Educator II Certificate or willingness to complete.
At least 5 years of experience in community education.
Proven experience in adult education.
Experience working with diverse groups.
Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).
A valid BC driver's license and ability to travel throughout the province.
Bonus Skills and Experience: Additional credentials or training related to teaching or facilitation.
Experience facilitating child car seat safety sessions and training.
Knowledge of child car seat products.
Comfortable facilitating education in another language.
Please note that the successful candidate will need to complete background checks, which may include criminal, credit, credential, and reference checks.
As an independent contractor, you will need to obtain your own GST number (if applicable) and WCB coverage before starting.
