The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Risk Lead to join our team in Melbourne. This senior role offers a unique opportunity to shape our Risk Management framework and play a central part in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across APAC. Close collaboration with our global risk and compliance teams will be essential in maintaining consistent, effective risk management practices and reporting across the region.
In this role, you will drive risk awareness by working closely with our Group Risk and business units to support and challenge stakeholders in implementing our Risk Management Framework. You'll also have the opportunity to provide expertise for critical change projects and oversee risk reporting across jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
* Identify, assess, and manage risks across various business lines, including financial, operational, regulatory, and reputational risks.
* Monitor and report on emerging risks and trends in the APAC region, ensuring timely identification and appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.
* Develop and maintain a robust risk reporting framework that provides clear visibility to senior management on risk exposure and mitigation efforts.
* Collaborate with our global risk and compliance teams to ensure local risk management practices and reporting are consistent with regional and global standards.
* Work closely with senior management and other stakeholders to promote a strong risk culture and ensure that risk management is integrated into business decision-making processes.
Requirements:
* Relevant professional or industry qualifications in risk management, compliance, or a related field.
* Demonstrated experience in a senior risk management role, preferably within a platform or financial services environment.
* In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory obligations and frameworks applicable to the industry with the ability to implement and enhance risk frameworks accordingly.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex risk and compliance concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
