Cradle Mountain Hotel is nestled in the alpine woodlands at the northern end of the breathtaking Cradle Mountain – Lake St Clair National Park. This wonderful escape showcases the absolute best this region has to offer with warm and welcoming hospitality, sensational local food and wine, indulgent spa facilities and breathtaking scenery. Located approximately two hours from Launceston and four hours from Hobart, our 60 room hotel also incorporates the award-winning Altitude restaurant and stunning Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery.
Job Description

What you'll do:
Step into the heart of Tasmania's wilderness and bring your passion for hospitality to Altitude Restaurant & Bar, the signature dining experience at Cradle Mountain Hotel. Here, we don't just serve meals – we create unforgettable moments against a backdrop of breathtaking alpine scenery. In this full-time role, you'll work across our dining venues, delivering exceptional service with a warm welcome. Every guest is unique, and you'll treat them as individuals, offering tailored options and solutions with a resilient, can-do attitude while thriving in a vibrant, fast-paced environment. On a daily basis you will:
* Under the direction of the Senior Chef on shift, undertake cooking, baking, pastry cooking or butchering duties to a consistently high standard.
* Assist with maintaining the general cleanliness of the kitchen area and equipment.
* Support the training of Kitchen Attendant staff.
What you'll bring:
* Demonstrated knowledge and abilities in kitchen operations.
* A genuine passion for your craft, with the ability to create and present contemporary dishes that showcase the best of local produce.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a team and engage with colleagues.
* Formal qualifications in commercial cookery.
* The resilience and efficiency to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, managing a high volume of covers with precision and quality.
