About the Role
ALS Water operates a modern laboratory in Melbourne (Scoresby) that is equipped with the latest in analytical technology.
The division is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to become part of a team delivering quality results on time and securing strong relationships with our clients.
This team strives to exceed customer expectations by delivering quality results on time and by maintaining strong relationships with their clients.
Role Details
This role is a permanent position Monday to Friday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
The successful applicant will receive training and support in the technical components and procedures of the role and in a wide variety of processes associated with working in a modern laboratory.
The Day to Day
The successful applicant will undertake a range of duties including the following:
* Preparation and analysis of water and soil samples.
* Ensuring preparation and analytical procedures are conducted in accordance with ALS Quality Work Instructions (QWIs).
* Completing tasks within set timeframes and to the relevant analysis standard.
* Assisting in washroom and housekeeping duties.
* Organising designated tasks to maximise daily efficiencies.
* Reporting anomalies in results and sample type/behaviour.

* Previous experience in a high throughput, client-focused environment.
* Excellent attention to detail, communications and organisational skills.
* Quick learner - ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
* Dedication to safe, quality laboratory practices.
* Strong commitment to client service.
* A positive work attitude, willingness to learn new skills and to be a great team player.
* Available to work 10:00 am to 6:00 pm shift.
* A general physical fitness and able to lift up to 15kg.
