Electrical Technician
Full‐time – 76 hours per fortnight. Salary commencing from $1670.48 (Gross) per week plus an industry allowance and 12% superannuation. Salary packaging available through Maxxia.
About the Role
Federation Council seeks a highly skilled, community‐mindful Electrical Technician to join our Engineering Services team. Based at the Corowa Water Filtration Plant, you will provide specialist trade services ranging from industrial electrical works to essential breakdown repairs across our treatment plants, pump stations, and reservoirs.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain, repair, and upgrade electrical equipment, electronic instrumentation, and control assemblies.
* Install and commission process instrumentation, PLC systems, VSDs, and telemetry/SCADA networks.
* Ensure all works meet Australian Standard AS3000, NSW Health regulations, and environmental standards.
* Participate in a rotational on‐call roster to ensure 24/7 reliability of essential services.
Essential Key Criteria
* Hold a current and valid Electrical Trade Certificate and have previous experience in electrical installations and maintenance.
* Hold a current and valid class \"C\" driver's licence.
* Possess the ability to understand and maintain electrical systems in municipal water and sewerage treatment plants.
* Intermediate user of software packages such as Microsoft Office, e‐mail systems, Internet searching and record‐management systems such as TRIM.
* Demonstrated knowledge of WHS practices and the ability to actively encourage and promote a safe working environment.
* Demonstrated history of showing initiative in solving problems, improving methods and productivity, and the ability to seek guidance where required.

Additional Information
The appointment will be governed by the Local Government (Electricians) (State) Award and Council's policies and conditions of employment. Salary commences at $1670.80 per week and may progress up to $1844.30 per week depending on skills and experience.
