This pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading Our client, a large QLD Government Department, is seeking to engage an experienced Business Analyst to support a business transformation initiative About the Role A Business Analyst is required to support initiatives by working collaboratively with business representatives and the project team to identify and document improvement opportunities (business process and/or technology changes). The role will be working with a small project team, and the wider project/technology teams within the department to identify and deliver these changes. The role description for this contractor engagement includes: Work closely with stakeholders and project subject matter experts to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the business scope and end-user requirements to ensure successful implementation. Identify business improvement, efficiency and streamlining opportunities through review of current state, pain points and stakeholder feedback. These changes could be business process related, and/or the introduction of new or enhanced technologies. Develop business requirements (including functional, non-functional and information requirements) and business processes as required. This may include the review and refresh of existing business requirements and business processes. Apply business analysis tools and techniques to model business concepts and requirements guided by industry standard practices and guidance such as BABOK, UML etc. Undertake business processing re-engineering to define streamlined target state business processes that achieve defined benefits. Prepare user stories with acceptance criteria and associated business rules from which solution architects can design, developers can build, and testers can assure the delivered solution. Ensure all business artefacts have full traceability to Project Scope and assist the solution architects in ensuring that the solution designs align with business requirements and are fit for purpose. Act as a central reference and information source, providing guidance and assistance in the project decision making process. Develop necessary supporting documentation to support the organisational change required to transition to target state business processes and/or enhanced or new technology. Support business users through the user acceptance test process. Where required contribute to/participate in project assurance activities. Ensure all business analysis documentation is prepared appropriately for each stage of the project adhering to project delivery processes, reporting frameworks and practices. Any other deliverables identified by the Project Manager/s or Project Director during the engagement. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in the following domains: 3 years demonstrated previous experience in requirements elicitation. 3 years demonstrated previous experience in business process, data and information modelling and analysis. Experience in identifying and evaluating inefficiencies and recommending optimal business practices, and system functionality and behaviour. Experience working closely with technology teams, using both agile and Prince2. Demonstrated expertise in establishing & maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. The successful candidate will have the following attributes: Outstanding communication skills, with an ability to effectively consult and negotiate with stakeholders (internal and external) and build positive relationships. Well-developed workshop facilitation, mentoring and conflict resolution skills. Well-developed skills in eliciting and documenting requirements, defining, and prioritising Epics/Features/User Stories and associated business rules in line with the project scope and business objectives. Well-developed skills in business process re-engineering. Well-developed skills in appropriately applying best practice business analysis tools and techniques. Ability to prioritise, schedule and perform work to meet deadlines, commitments, and work within a team environment and with ambiguity. Further details: 8 Hours/day - 40 Hour working week.
