Your role
The Project Support Officer (Maintenance) plays a key enabling role within Infrastructure & Assets Branch by providing essential administrative, coordination, and financial management support to the Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) and Youth Justice (YJ) maintenance teams.
The position helps ensure maintenance activities run smoothly by managing documentation, tracking budgets and expenditure, provide maintenance, reporting supporting procurement processes, coordinating meetings and reporting, and maintaining accurate records across the portfolio. By working closely with operational maintenance staff, contractors, and internal stakeholders, the role strengthens governance, improves workflow efficiency, and supports the delivery of safe, compliant, and well‑maintained custodial and youth justice facilities.
What you'll do
As part of the Infrastructure Operations team within Infrastructure and Assets, you will be responsible for but not limited to providing essential day‑to‑day support to the CSNSW and Youth Justice maintenance teams by coordinating administrative, financial, reporting and operational activities that keep the portfolio running smoothly.
The role manages core administrative functions such as minute‑taking, meeting coordination, calendar management, document control, and stakeholder communication. It also supports financial processes including purchase orders, invoicing, budget tracking, and reporting to ensure accurate and timely maintenance expenditure management.
The position contributes to operational reporting by preparing dashboards, briefing notes, collating data, and maintaining records that support decision‑making. While primarily office‑based, the role may occasionally visit custodial centres to support site meetings, gain operational context, and strengthen relationships with on‑site staff and contractors.
This combination of administrative, financial, and operational support makes the role a key enabler of effective maintenance delivery across the custodial and youth justice portfolios.
The Infrastructure Operations unit is a fast‑paced, collaborative environment that supports the delivery of safe, compliant, and reliable maintenance services across both CSNSW and Youth Justice portfolios. The successful candidate will be joining a small, supportive team of maintenance professionals who work closely with operational staff, contractors, and internal stakeholders to keep high‑risk custodial facilities functioning effectively. Reporting directly to the Senior Operations Manager, this role will work alongside Lead Maintenance Coordinators and Maintenance Coordinators, contributing to a culture that values teamwork, accountability, and proactive problem‑solving. The environment is dynamic and service‑driven, with a strong focus on communication, responsiveness, and maintaining high standards of safety and operational integrity.
What we're looking for

You will have solid proficiency across Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills for data analysis and financial tracking, along with experience using or an aptitude to learn Power BI for reporting and dashboard development.
A background in financial administration, procurement support, or maintenance‑related coordination will help you succeed, as will strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing tasks with accuracy and attention to detail. The ideal candidate is adaptable, comfortable taking on varied responsibilities, and confident engaging with stakeholders across CSNSW and Youth Justice. They will thrive in a collaborative team, demonstrate initiative, and bring a positive, solutions‑focused approach.
You will have a current NSW drivers' licence and a willingness to drive throughout NSW from time to time.
You will also be exposed to hierarchical custodial environments as part of the role.
