About Us
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is a wonderful place to expand your career and grow your skills and knowledge. As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we provide a range of public health services to the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Region.
Introducing the Nepean Adolescent Mental Health Unit (NAHMU), a fresh, purpose built 10-bed facility dedicated to supporting adolescents aged 12 to 17 who are navigating complex and severe mental health challenges. This state-of-the-art inpatient unit is the newest chapter in the Child, Youth and Family Mental Health (CYFMH) story, expanding its reach to provide compassionate, specialised care from the earliest stages of life through to young adulthood. NAHMU isn't just a place of healing, it's a vital step forward in empowering young people and their families with the support they need, when they need it most.
This is an exceptional opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role at the forefront of adolescent mental health care. As Clinical Nurse Consultant 2 (CNC2) at the newly established Nepean Adolescent Mental Health Unit (NAMHU), you will bring expert clinical insight, strategic vision, and compassionate leadership to a team dedicated to supporting young people aged ***** with complex mental health needs. Your influence will shape the quality of care from the ground up, driving policy development, mentoring staff, and leading practice innovation that reflects the latest evidence and delivers the best outcomes.
In this pivotal role, you will champion clinical governance, lead education and training initiatives, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Working in close collaboration with allied health professionals and multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure care is holistic, person-centred, and responsive to the needs of both patients and their families. Your leadership will be central to establishing and sustaining the operational excellence of NAMHU, overseeing referral pathways, admission and discharge planning, and patient flow systems.
If you are ready to lead with purpose, elevate clinical practice, and help build a transformative service for young people in crisis, NAMHU is ready for your expertise. Apply today and be part of shaping the future of adolescent mental health care.
