Clinical Nurse Consultant Specialist Breast Care Nurse – McGrath and BreastScreen
Join West Moreton Hospital and Health Service in this Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) role. The CNC is an expert registered nurse responsible for planning, coordinating and providing advanced breast‑care knowledge, education and support to patients with breast disease from diagnosis through treatment, rehabilitation, follow‑up and palliative care in accordance with recognised clinical practice guidelines.
About the Role
The CNC will work within the multidisciplinary model of cancer care and partner with service providers in acute and community settings, promoting breast awareness. The role incorporates service delivery to rural communities in Gatton, Esk and Boonah through education and information about breast‑awareness clinics and supporting breast cancer support groups.
About You
- Demonstrated high level of competence and expertise in advanced practice in the management of women with breast cancer/oncology nursing/women's health within acute and community settings.
- Ability to provide advanced clinical skills in counselling and health education to the multidisciplinary team and to clients, families and the community.
- High level verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to initiate, plan and evaluate local service improvement with commitment to the total quality framework, management and improvement of health outcomes through project management, organisational and planning skills.
- Exemplifies the West Moreton Health Professional Practice Model by demonstrating person‑centred care, qualified excellence, safe and effective care delivery, commitment to quality and safety, and collaborative practice.
Mandatory Requirements
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine‑preventable diseases as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16.
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra). Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties.
- Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification or evidence of enrolment in such a program is essential for this role.
