Senior Quantity Surveyor Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C, a 3.2‐gigawatt low‐carbon power station supplying reliable electricity for at least 60 years. The role is within the Enabling and Earthwork Section.
Responsibilities:
* Has a good knowledge of and adheres to the Company's GMCEs, BMS and other governance (including SZC systems, processes, and governance).
* Orders information and systematically checks data.
* Maximises digital opportunities.
* Prepares Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules and analyses tender documents.
* Critically appraises, estimates, and negotiates the above with third parties.
* Planning: Reviews complex contract programmes such as Time‐Location and assists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes.
* Project Management: Monitors subcontract activities, measures and responds appropriately; analyses commercial progress and reports to senior project staff; manages commercial aspects with customer and stakeholders for their area of responsibility.
* Procurement: Undertakes constructability analyses using construction programmes; prepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategy.
* Commercial Management: Analyses rates and prices, agreements of variations or compensation events as required; undertakes customer and stakeholder management; prepares, submits and negotiates claims when required; prepares internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation.
* Development, Recruitment and Retention: Maintains own personal development plan; manages HR/People aspects for direct and indirect reports (PDRs etc); actively supports the development of others including professional mentoring; produces plans for team to achieve goals and aspirations; supports recruitment of lower grades.
Qualifications:
* BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
* Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards).
* Commercial management experience.
* Negotiation, legal & contracting, risk & opportunity management.
* Project procurement strategy and civil engineering technical solutions.
* Project management, HSE, DfMA, digital engineering, client & stakeholder management, people management.
* Strong communication and excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Ability to resolve conflict and build respect between multi‐disciplinary teams.
* Experience managing the preparation of target cost and earned value management; managing commercial risk and opportunity.
Desirable:

* Proven track record in managing and leading large teams.
* Demonstrable experience of innovation in health and safety, operational delivery, etc.
