**Description**:
Our retail team has a tremendous support function behind them located at our office in Alexandria. Part of that support comes from our merchandise team who currently have an opening for a Senior Assistant Buyer to join the team. This role will be responsible for coordinating and driving the process of selection, design, purchase, production, delivery and allocations to support company growth and maximise sales and profitability.
**You will be responsible for**:
- Provide support and assistance to the Buyer and HOM
- Develop ranges with HOM, Buyer & Design team and assist with the management of OTB in line with product strategies.
- Manage and buy categories under the guidance of Buyer/HOM
- Respond to sales and market data to make commercial decisions to maximise sales opportunities and minimise future risks.
- Trade the department identifying opportunities and implement actions through trade analysis to optimise profit, making recommendations for repeat orders and minimising slow performance through promotions & markdowns.
- Prepare buying information in support of in-season, pre-season, post seasonal and future buy plans
- Provide administrative and strategic support in the buying department and assist marketing department with Product suggestions for EDMs
- Prepare reports for Trade meetings, review and analyse buying data and present back to the wider team.
- Provide ad hoc analysis support with accuracy.
- Work collaboratively with key stake holders - Design Production, Marketing, Retail and VM
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and awareness of competitors and external trends identifying missed opportunities to maximise revenue.

**Skills and Experiences**:
- 3-4 years plus experience as a assistant buyer
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye
- Strong MS Excel skills
- A passion for menswear and a premium product
- Strong assertiveness and being able to have an opinion
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
