Job Description
The concierge acts as an ambassador for the hotel and is an integral part of hotel operations, focusing on guest service. They are responsible for creating a welcoming first impression. The ideal concierge is multi-talented, familiar with the city, and sophisticated outside the hotel. They must demonstrate tact and diplomacy at all times.
The goal of this position is to positively influence each guest's experience. The concierge greets guests, assists with questions and luggage, and provides recommendations and directions to local attractions, corporate centers, and events.
Qualifications
* At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
* Light work – exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects
* Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
* Ability to evaluate and choose among alternative actions quickly and accurately
* Ability to work well under stress and in high-pressure situations
* Maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
* Effective problem-solving skills, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving issues
* Good listening skills to understand and clarify concerns of coworkers and guests
* Ability to work with financial information and perform basic arithmetic
