The Role
As a Senior Timber Engineer you will be a key member of a leading Sydney Timber team. You will lead the design and delivery of diverse projects using Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), Glulam (GLT), and innovative timber‐hybrid systems. This role is perfect for an ambitious engineer looking for autonomy, the opportunity to work with other passionate timber specialists and with a consultancy offering a clear pathway towards Associate and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead structural design and analysis of mass timber buildings from concept through construction.
* Working closely with the Team Director you will manage your own projects end‐to‐end, including fee proposals, technical documentation, to Australian Standards.
* Act as a key technical resource, collaborating closely with architects, developers, and builders to provide specialist advice on timber design solutions.
* Provide guidance and technical review for junior and intermediate engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
* Develop in‐house design procedures and sustainable strategies to maintain our client's position as leaders in the industry.
About You
To be considered you will have a passion for sustainable design and a proven track record in complex timber structures and:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
* Chartered or working to achieve this imminently.
* Minimum of 5–10 years in structural engineering, with notable experience and a passion for mass timber design and delivery.
* Proficiency in ETABS, Space Gass, RAM, RAPT, or specialized timber tools like CLT Toolbox.
* Exceptional written and verbal skills, with the ability to represent the firm in high-level client meetings.
