**Who are we looking for?**
Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Manager, Maintenance Services to join Facilities Management, Administrative Division.
The Manager, Maintenance Services (MMS) is responsible for the day-to-day and strategic management of the maintenance unit via the direct supervision of in-house trade-based team leaders utilising both internal QUT staff and external contractor resources. Facilities Management Help Desk staff report to the MMS and provide administrative support services to the maintenance unit to ensure the effective delivery of ad hoc and preventive maintenance programs via the utilisation of a contemporary maintenance management workflow system. Through the development and setting of policies, procedures and standards, the MMS influences the way in which operational staff approach, conduct and deliver services to the QUT community to ensure the safe and reliable operation of QUT facilities. In addition, the MMS provides asset condition and life cycle costing expertise and support in the context of the FM Department's asset replacement program and the University's broader strategic asset master plan.

**About the Administrative Division**
Administrative Division supports the governance and operations of the University, including planning and quality, facilities and services for students and staff. The Administrative Division is led by the Vice
- President (Administration) and University Registrar.
**About the Department**
The Facilities Management Department within the Division of Administrative Services is responsible for managing the process of design, construction, maintenance and operation of the physical facilities, and the provision of a range of support services across the University's two main campuses at Gardens Point, Kelvin Grove and a range of smaller offsite facilities. QUT's built asset portfolio includes in excess of 68 individual buildings with a total gross floor area (GFA) in excess of 400,000 m2. Facility functionality ranges from general teaching spaces to high technology research laboratories and related infrastructure.

Your expertise and initiative, combined with your ability to work as an excellent team player will be vital to your success in this role.
You will demonstrate:
1. Education training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a postgraduate qualification and extensive experience in the field of Facilities Management inclusive of construction, operation and maintenance.
2. Demonstrated high level knowledge of project management and contract management in the context of delivering civil/ electrical/ mechanical building services upgrade projects and preventive maintenance programs.
3. Proven effective leadership and management skills that drive teamwork, high performance and excellence in service provision.
4. Proven experience in the design, delivery and communication of technical and analytical reports to key stakeholders.
5. Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills in technical, operational and organizational tasks, including a broad understanding of financial management principles.
6. Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and safe work practices.
