Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and efficient Demi Chef de Partie-Butcher to join our culinary team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for the preparation and butchery of various meats, ensuring the highest standards of quality and food safety.
* Prepare and portion various types of meat according to menu specifications and chef's instructions
* Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
* Operate and maintain butchery equipment, including knives, saws, and grinders
* Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of meat dishes
* Assist in inventory management and ordering of meat products
* Implement proper storage and rotation of meat products to minimize waste
* Contribute to menu development by suggesting new meat preparations or cuts
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in butchery techniques and meat preparation
* Ensure compliance with halal meat preparation standards
* Adapt to changing needs and assist in other kitchen areas as required
Qualifications
* Proven experience (2-3 years minimum) as a butcher or Demi Chef de Partie in a professional kitchen setting
* Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various butchery techniques
* Strong knowledge of different meat cuts, preparation methods, and portion control
* Understanding of food safety principles and hygiene practices
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
* Culinary degree or diploma preferred
* Current food safety certification required
* Knowledge of halal meat preparation practices
* Familiarity with local Saudi cuisine and meat preferences is a plus
* Ability to work in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and adapt to the local work environment
