Industrial Sewing Machinist (full‐time)
Location: Mitcham, Melbourne
Job type: Full‐time
Pay: From $30.00 per hour, fully experienced machinists can expect between $38 – $50 per hour, depending on experience, speed, workmanship and overall skill level
Experience required: Industrial sewing machine – 5 years (preferred)
Language: English (preferred)
Willingness to travel: 25% (preferred)

Essential Requirements
* Proven experience within the furniture upholstery industry
* Strong upholstery sewing knowledge and finishing skills
* Experience sewing both fabric and leather upholstery with precision
* Experience operating a Pfaff 545 walking foot industrial sewing machine
* Ability to accurately sew and assemble upholstery covers to a high standard
* Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship
* Reliable and self‐motivated work ethic
* Ability to work independently and within a team environment
About the Role
* Sewing and assembling upholstery covers for sofas, chairs, cushions, recliners and custom furniture pieces
* Operating industrial walking foot sewing machines, including the Pfaff 545
* Cutting and preparing upholstery materials according to patterns and measurements
* Working closely with upholsterers to achieve premium‐quality finishes
* Assisting with upholstery‐related tasks when required
* Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient workspace
* Contributing positively to our supportive and team‐oriented workshop culture
